Standing Firm Against Racism
Our fight to expose and dismantle oppressive systems of power is more urgent than ever. Across the country, efforts to address systemic racism and injustice are being silenced. In Ohio, Senate Bills 1 and 113 threaten access to truthful education.
These bills—like the executive order attacking Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs—send a chilling message: that telling the truth about our history is dangerous. That learning about racism, inequality, and injustice is optional—or worse, impermissible. At Ignite Peace, we believe the opposite.
Honest conversations rooted in care, especially when they are difficult or messy, illuminate injustice and reveal the ways to dismantle it. When traditional institutions fail to provide this education, we must step in.
